Story
Join the Analogue Resistance
A companion for the curious, the chaotic, the human photographer, the Lomo MC-A is a reminder that everybody is equal before the lens – and behind it. A 35 mm point-and-shoot like no other, this camera is made for the ones ready to feel first and frame second. This isn’t about curating, it’s about creating. About making photos that matter – not because they’re flawless, but because they’re real. The Lomo MC-A is your invitation to living in the world, not just looking at it.
Compact, Creative, Analogue
This compact and durable 35 mm camera features a metal body with a premium 32 mm f/2.8 multi-coated Lomo glass lens, delivering sharp, vibrant 35 mm images bursting with unmistakable analogue character. Whether capturing everyday life, special events, or getting artistic, the Lomo MC-A is a versatile companion that adapts to your pace. Choose between fully automatic settings for point-and-shoot simplicity, aperture priority mode, or full manual control for complete creative freedom, with a detailed LCD screen that makes all your settings clear and accessible.
Shooting Modes for Every Style
Built for everyone from curious beginners to seasoned analogue shooters, the Lomo MC-A puts you in charge of your creative vision with three versatile shooting modes, fast autofocus or manual zone-focusing from 0.4 m, and a powerful built-in flash or PC-sync flash connection.
Program Auto Exposure: effortless point-and-shoot simplicity, ideal for beginners or anyone who wants to focus on the moment rather than the settings. The LOMO MC-A automatically sets both shutter speed and aperture according to your surroundings. A slow shutter speed indicator light will light up in orange in the viewfinder, when the shutter speed is slower than 1/30 and will warn you of possible camera shaking.
Aperture Priority Auto Exposure: designed for photographers who want creative depth-of-field control without losing the convenience of auto exposure. You choose the aperture (f/2.8 – f/16), while the camera calculates the shutter speed for a balanced, schoolbook exposure. Perfect for portraits, street shots and any scene where selective focus matters. A slow shutter speed indicator light will light up in orange in the viewfinder, when the shutter speed is slower than 1/30 and will warn you of possible camera shaking.
Fully Manual: take complete control of both shutter speed and aperture, with additional exposure compensation control – perfect for more experienced photographers who want to fine-tune every shot, experiment with creative effects, or push the limits of film. Use bulb mode for long exposures, light painting, or capturing trails of movement in low light.
In a Flash
The LOMO MC-A flash is OFF by default, and when enabled, offers three different creative modes:
- Auto Flash: the camera will automatically adjust the flash output based on your surroundings. In Program Auto- and Aperture Priority Exposure modes, the slowest shutter speed is limited to 1/30s when your flash is on, reducing any camera shake.
- Lomo Creative Flash Mode 1: a programmatic flash with front-curtain synchronization during long exposures, and optimized exposure curve for night scenes.
- Lomo Creative Flash Mode 2: a programmatic flash with rear-curtain synchronization during long exposures, and optimized exposure curve for night scenes.
Signature Lomography Features
Lomography isn’t just about capturing a scene, it’s about capturing a memory, a moment, a feeling. The Lomo MC-A comes with signature Lomography features: multiple and long exposures, a Splitzer lens attachment and Colored Gel Filters so every frame can become an experiment.
You’ll also get some exciting tools in the box. Accessories include a protective camera wrap designed to fit the MC-A perfectly, an MC UV Glass Protection Lens Filter, Leather-covered Lens Cap and Leather Hand Strap to keep your camera safe and your shots clear.
This is a Movement
Lomography began in Vienna, Austria in 1992 as a joyful rebellion. A revolt against perfectionism, against elitism and the cold precision of traditional photography. We celebrated spontaneity, imperfection and the sheer act of seeing. We shot from the hip, welcomed blur and chaos and embraced the accidental. Photography became play, protest, poetry. Fast forward to 2025 and our spirit hasn’t faded, but the world around us has changed.
Today, photography is everywhere and nowhere. We take more photos in a day than entire generations took in their lifetimes. Photography lives in our phones, in our stories, in the endless scrolling of apps. But with that immediacy has come a kind of erasure: images made for algorithms, forgotten in hours. Photos reduced to content. Memory outsourced to the cloud. Lomography was never about trends. It wasn’t born in a boardroom. It emerged from a moment, a collision of accessibility, spontaneity, rebellion and joy. And we still stand by what brought us here. We are not anti-digital. We are pro-reality.
The Lomo MC-A was born from a desire to create a camera that leads our Lomographers back to what matters. To remind you why you fell in love with photography in the first place. This camera is a call to unplug, to break free from the glowing rectangles and GET YOUR LIFE BACK. Real life. The kind of life that happens when you slow down, feel the weight of a camera in your hand, and make something tangible. When you’re present, not scrolling. Real life is not filtered. Not polished. Just simple, alive, and true.
The 10 Declarations of Lomographic Freedom
In 1992, The 10 Golden Rules of Lomography were published in the Wiener Zeitung, designed to capture the spirit of spontaneity, imperfection and freedom at the analogue soul of Lomography. Two decades later, in 2010, we created the 10 Prophecies for the Analogue Future, re-establishing that the Analogue Future is definitely no pipe-dream and set about to re-establish our message.
Now, in 2025, we’ve created a new way of seeing, a reminder, an act of resistance. Not rules, not prophecies, but survival strategies for the modern Lomographer. Today, we, the practitioners of Lomography, do mischievously, proudly and joyfully proclaim our independence from perfection, conformity and digital domination.
We declare:
I. Everybody is equal before the lens, and behind it.
II. We shall feel first, frame second.
III. True creativity cannot be swiped, imitated, or reduced to a screen.
IV. We will remain analogue, even when everything screams digital.
V. Forget the look.
VI. The tactile and the imperfect are our heroes.
VII. Presentation is a mask, presence is a revolution.
VIII. We shall smudge, scratch, stain, and leave a trace as proof of being.
IX. Meaning endures, even when reason abandons us.
X. Always show up, and never be afraid to show off.
Question & Answers
What film does the Lomo MC-A use?
The Lomo MC-A shoots full-frame images on any roll of 35 mm film. See our full 35 mm film range.
What are the dimensions and the weight of the Lomo MC-A?
Camera dimensions: 125.8 mm(w) x 69.5 mm(h) x 42 mm(d) or 4.9 x 2.7 x 1.6 inches
Weight: 332g (battery excluded) or 0.7 pound
What is a front-curtain or rear-curtain flash?
Front-curtain flash is the default on most cameras, where the flash fires right at the beginning of the exposure when the shutter first opens. This freezes your subject immediately, but if there’s motion in the frame, you’ll often see light trails in front of the subject, which can look unnatural. The rear-curtain flash fires at the very end of the exposure, just before the shutter closes. This allows any motion blur to build up naturally during the exposure, and the flash “freezes” the subject at the end, so light trails appear behind the subject, creating a more dynamic, natural sense of movement. The MC-A gives you flexibility of all options.
Why should I buy this camera and not a point & shoot camera from the second-hand market?
Unlike old second-hand cameras, the Lomo MC-A is brand new, reliable and ready to shoot without the risks of worn-out shutters, failing light seals or electronics that might give out mid-roll. Most vintage compact cameras lock you into auto mode. The Lomo MC-A gives you both point-and-shoot simplicity and full manual freedom, as well as experimental features like multiple exposures, long exposures, a Splitzer lens attachment, and colored gel filters. What’s more, you’re not just buying a camera; you’re joining the Lomography movement with support, a warranty and a global Community that thrives on creativity.
How does manual focus work?
In MF (Manual Zone Focus) mode, the Focus is set manually by switching the Zone Focusing Lever to your desired distance (0.4 m, 0.8 m, 1.5 m, 3 m or infinity).
How fast is the autofocus?
As fast as a lightning bolt! A blue indication light will light up in the viewfinder when the focus is set. If the light is blinking you may be too close to your subject.
How long is the battery life?
The Lomo MC-A comes with a USB-C rechargeable CR2 battery. Under typical shooting conditions, it can last for up to ten rolls of film, though actual battery life depends heavily on your shooting style and how frequently you use features like autofocus and flash. The battery is removable and can be recharged over 1200 times. A disposable CR2 Battery (3 V) may also be used to power the camera, but its operating time may be shorter than the included rechargeable battery.
Does the camera include automatic film advancing and rewinding?
No, with the Lomo MC-A you get the full analogue experience with a manual film advance lever and rewinding. This makes it more convenient to get creative with multiple exposures, film swaps and be more connected to the analogue process.
