| The Lomographic Society has opened its very own and the first ever Lomography shop in the Vienna MuseumsQuartier. The excessive range of goodies on offer and the store's Lomographic design are adding new facets to the rich spectrum of facilities offered by the culture Quartier. |

No big surprise... you can buy stuff here: Lomographic cameras, film,
books and other vital Lomographic accessories, Lomography under and overwear
and all the other current and pending Lomography products! Simply cruise
round ourselves, and set up a counter so we can offer the revered culture
and art-loving community our own excellent products, is what we thought
to ourselves. Et voilà! But that's is not all: The Lomographer
is a searching, admiring and highly peripatetic type of person. They travel
around the world and through the city. With their hipped lens, they are
permanently on the lookout for intermediary tones and the obscured, for
flotsam and the brand new. A first selection of the assorted jetsam and
exquisite little grandiosities that have fallen into the laps of the various
Lomographers on their extended travels around Vienna and the world are
now to be offered for sale in the Lomography Wien shop to all the revered
visitors to the MuseumsQuartier. This store is stocked suitably for both
the impassioned hedonistic shopper as well as for the quick grip from
the hip. |

| The Goods "That could be anything!" Says the critical Lomographic consumer, and we respond with a basic "yep!" Of course there is nevertheless a basic focus in the sweeping prairie of products on offer in Lomography Wien: 1) Because we are based in Vienna, of course this is where we throw out our lasso the most often. It's only logical and it makes sense: We have decades of intensive study of the phenomenon that is Vienna, local familiarity of the highest order, an almost unparalleled network and world class quality to boot... not to blow our own trumpet to loud, but: Lomography is everywhere! And the great thing about the project is: Lomographers in Tokyo, Berlin and Youngstown Ohio are thinking about and even working on opening their own stores to offer local goodies from their own homesteads! Though as nothing in life should be that dogmatic, in the Lomography Wien shop you will be just as likely to find pieces from Nuremberg or Hanoi, from Portland or Kobe as from Vienna, all of which have been snuffled out thirstily by Lomographers wherever. Simply coz the stuff fits the store! 2) You will only find things and services in our store that you do not necessarily require: no milk, no potatoes, no deo spray and no Grüner Veltliner wine or schnaps! (or maybe you will?) But that's pretty well everything that we don't want to stock. Anything goes that's fun, that opens the ears and the eyes. Things that you didn't know existed and, above all... things that you never dreamt you would ever actually buy. Look around (4) The Lomography.Wien shop doesn't look even remotely like a normal store and why should it. The Lomography affiliated architect-designer-duo Sally Bibawy and Karl Emilio Pircher, along with their team, have mercilessly interpreted and reflected all the different facets of Lomography in the design for the shop, and combined with our philosophy and the range of Lomographic products on offer the store will provide the MuseumsQuartier, its host, a nifty architectural counterpoint. But why mince words: you have to get the feeling of Lomography Wien shop for yourself, experience it first hand, and like anything Lomographic: complete your own image the motto of Lomography! |
