YOU CAN How the hell does a photograph come out of this can? A fair enough question. And a charming usage guide for an answer... The Can An included metal washer easily pops the top off of your can. On the inside is a painted white stripe - this indicates where the approximate middle of your film sheet should be.
The Film A piece of sheet film looks like the image above - although this particular piece is ruined (for the benefit of this microsite) as it should NEVER be exposed to light before develompent.
The Bag Your film changing bag looks like an over-thick little t-shirt. It has a double zippered entry on one side, and little elastic holes for your hands on the other
Preparation Place your Paint Can Camera, the fresh film box, and a light-tight envelope or box for your spent film into your bag and fully zip it closed. NOTE: do not open the fresh film until it is secured in the zipped bag!
The Challenge Using only your hands, open the film box, take out a sheet, and load it into your camera.
Shoot! According to our included exposure guide. The can should be sitting on a stable surface, as pinhole shots range from a few seconds to a whole lot longer...
Unload and Repeat Place the camera back into the changing bag, remove the film, place that into your light-tight receptacle, reload, and re-shoot. When you’re done, drop off the light-tight package to your local professional developer. |
